David “Coach” Henry
In 2022, Coach Henry helped revive the Topsail High School robotics team, now known as the BOGO Bots. Drawing on his background as a basketball coach, he brings a strong sense of motivation, teamwork, and leadership that sets the team apart from many others.
Although robotics was a new field for him, Coach has learned everything he knows directly from the students, embodying the team’s spirit of curiosity and growth. But his role goes far beyond just “driving the bus.” Coach Henry is deeply involved in every aspect of the team — from advising students and recruiting mentors to registering for competitions, managing parts and logistics, and working late nights alongside the team during the competition season.
His dedication, enthusiasm, and genuine support for the students have made him an essential part of what makes the BOGO Bots thrive.

Abigael “Leader Abbey” Jones
Organized, responsible, and highly motivated, Leader Abbey is a strong role model both in and out of robotics. Her main roles on the team include fundraising and managing social media, but her talents extend far beyond that—she’s skilled in multiple areas and always willing to step in wherever help is needed.
Leader Abbey plays a key part in keeping the team focused and on track to meet its goals each season. She also excels at securing sponsorships and community support, helping ensure the BOGO Bots have the resources they need to compete and succeed.

Langston “Lang-Gang” Freidhoff
For the past four years, Lang-Gang has served as the lead in electrical and build, playing a crucial role in transforming CAD designs into fully functional robots. His expertise bridges the gap between design and construction, helping the team bring their ideas to life.
Lang-Gang is also dedicated to teaching and mentoring other students, passing on his knowledge in both electrical systems and mechanical build. Thanks to his guidance, many team members have developed valuable engineering and design skills that they can apply beyond robotics and into real-world careers.

Alfredo Maldonado Jr
As the former mentor and alumni of team 3735 VorTX, Alfredo is our most experienced mentor with 8 years of experience in FRC. On VorTX he was the driver and was on their build team where they went to worlds multiple times. He is a newer mentor as he joined this season.
He currently works at GE Vernova Hitachi Nuclear Energy which lead him to becoming a mentor. On our team, he helps with strategy, build, and programming.
Jon "Padre" Vreuls
Our newest member to FRC and it's community, he's taking his time to learn everything about robotics! During competitions, he helps chaperone our team, takes pictures from the stands, and volunteers whenever he can! He co-mentors with his daughter in our cad sub-team as well.
During build season, BOGO Padre looks over the kids to make sure everyone is being safe, smart, and on task. He only talks to the team with terrifying dad jokes, that effectively keep the spirits high and kids productive! (If they don't stay on task, there will be more evil dad jokes).

As one of the original founders of the BOGO Bots, Shea-Dog played a major role in shaping the team’s foundation. He used his skills in coding and CAD design to help create and refine the robots that have driven the team’s success.
Beyond his technical abilities, Shea-Dog continues to support the team by sharing his knowledge with newer members, helping them learn the ropes and grow in their own skills. His creativity, dedication, and willingness to help others have made him a respected leader and mentor within the BOGO Bots community.
